Welcome to 2012... a busy year!
02 January 2012
Firstly, Happy New Year!

It's the start of a busy one for me, starting with a presenter training sessions for Lincs FM at Rutland Radio next week; it should be a great opportunity to learn the ropes and record a demo, it goes without mentioning that it will be a fantastic addition to my CV and a chance to meet the people of Rutland Radio!

I also have a few Lincs@Large days planned with Lincs FM, visiting places around the region giving away free cakes and flowers!

Over the next few weeks I will be working on a radio feature for BBC Lincolnshire that will be broadcast on Judy Theobald's show at the end of February called 'East coast out of season'. It will be looking at how local business in Lincolnshire's seaside resorts cope during the winter months; with a variety of interviews. I will also be submitting this as my final radio assessment at university for my last semester of studying the Radio Projects module.

This year is the year of graduation from University, so I'm expecting to be very busy working on my final modules and of course my dissertation! I will be researching the impact of the internet on commercial radio and undertaking a community radio project, teaching children how to use the Siren FM studios, leading up to them having an opportunity to broadcast their own show!

I have applied for a full-time internship at Capital FM starting in the summer, fingers crossed that I get the chance to take part in this opportunity based either in London or Nottingham.

I will also be doing more work around the latest film releases - an interest of mine - and working with the Odeon to provide audio reviews of the latest films online and on Siren FM. I am hoping to continue my work with 20th Century Fox Films and keep running competitions distributing their merchandise and promoting their films.

I am continuing my live show presenting 'New Wave' on Siren FM and producing more stand-alone features and interviews. Hopefully I'll secure a full time job by the end of the year, presenting, producing... who knows!

It's going to be a busy one!
